From the North: Drive to the end of the Garden State Parkway, EXIT 0. Drive over canal bridge, and TURN RIGHT IMMEDIATELY at the bottom of the bridge, just before the Lucky Bones Backwater Grille. Follow the road under the canal bridge. The marina is on the left.
From the South: Exit Cape May City via Washington
Street heading north, following signs for the Garden State Parkway. This road
changes to Route 109 North. At the base of the Cape May Canal Bridge, turn right
at the Utsch's Marina sign. Utsch's Marina is on your right.
1. Enter the Cape May Canal by the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal from Red 8 in the Delaware Bay. In the canal there are two fixed bridges with a train swing bridge between them. Maximum mast height recommended is 55'. The swing bridge remains in the "open" position until a train is required to cross, then a broadcast will be made on Channel 16.
2. Continue to the east end of the canal. Once you go under the second fixed bridge, Utsch's Marina is on your starboard side. Please hail us on channel 9 or 16 to let us know if you need fuel upon your arrival, for your slip assignment, or for further directions. Calling us from the second fixed bridge enables us to ensure that we have a line handler on the dock (either the fuel dock or at your slip) upon your arrival.
3. Continue to Red 16. Keeping Red 16 on your port side, turn to starboard. At this point you will be running parallel to our front bulkhead, which should be on your starboard side. Stay 20 - 30 feet off this bulkhead to ensure that you stay in good water. There is a 13' trench dug out there. Any closer than 20 feet of the bulkhead you could run aground, depending upon your draft.
4. Continue along the bulkhead to the marina entrance. The entrance to Utsch's Marina is the first break in that bulkhead. There is a lighthouse at the entrance to the marina, and it should be on your port side as you enter the marina.
5. For fuel, continue down our main aisle way, towards the blue building.
1. Enter the Cape May inlet and proceed to the "C" (Charlie) Buoy. The "C" Buoy marks the entrances to the Cape May Harbor and the Inter-Coastal Waterway. Keep the "C" Buoy on your starboard side.
2. Keeping the red day markers on your starboard side, follow the red day markers to Red 14. At Red 14 you will veer slightly to the right. You should be heading towards the fixed bridge in the Cape May Canal. Please hail us on channel 9 or 16 to let us know if you will need fuel upon your arrival, for your slip assignment, or for further directions. Calling us from Red 14 enables us to ensure that we have a line handler on the dock (either the fuel dock or your slip) upon your arrival.
3. Just before the entrance to the Cape May Canal, you will come upon Red 16. Keeping Red 16 on your starboard side, turn to port. At this point, you will be running parallel with our front bulkhead, which should be on your starboard side. Stay 20 - 30 feet off the bulkhead to ensure that you stay in good, deep water. There is a 13' trench dug out there. Any closer than 20' of the bulkhead, you could run aground, depending upon your draft.
4. Continue along the bulkhead to tghe marina entrance. The entrance to Utsch's Marina is the first break in that bulkhead. There is a lighthouse at the entrance to the marina and it should be on your port side as you enter the marina.
5. For fuel, continue down our main aisle way, towards the blue building.
